At Amour Vert we believe that women shouldn’t have to sacrifice style for sustainability. We put fashion first, but always employ a zero-waste design philosophy and use only organic and sustainable fabrics along with low impact dyes. Our lifestyle driven brand is all about the convergence of Paris-chic meets Cali-cool... It’s the perfect blend of high / low, where natural elements combine with glamorous details. We design and produce a full range of ready to wear in the United States and prove that it is possible to be both fashionable and environmentally responsible.

There is a reason we called it Amour Vert... Sure, we love ‘green’, but without glamour and style we’re not interested ; the combination of green and glamour is what it’s all about for us... Amour Vert : a glamorous french take on utilitarian everyday, sustainability.

LaVladi

Artistic jewelry for women, men and children

www.LaVladi.com

Inspired by Gothic architecture and Japanese art, I create jewelry from a diverse materials incorporating various artistic and jewelry techniques. I see jewelry as an expressive vehicle, something that goes beyond its usual conception of a decorative object. I seek innovation. I see beauty in everyday objects and incorporate them into my designs by transforming them. Even though I use some of traditional materials, I prefer to work with odd found objects and re-purposed as well as upcycled materials. It fascinates and challenges me as a designer. I live in the process of creating my mini sculptures and collages. A one of a kind piece is born. All of my creations are carefully crafted with attention to detail and perfection. The highest quality materials are chosen. I value attention to detail and minimalism. Even when I incorporate hard wear, I strive toward classy elegant creations.

Platinum Dirt

by Eco Designer Dustin

A designer from Oakland, CA and for the most part self-taught, Dustin started doing graphic design over ten years ago. Six years ago he started designing T-shirts with the intention of starting a full clothing line.  Within five years he came up with the concept for the VIN Jacket™. From there he started designing supporting products to broaden the Platinum line, all made from reclaimed automobile leather.

Platinum Dirt creates new leather products by upcycling reclaimed leather from automobiles, home furnishings and the like.  We explore for these treasures in junkyards, salvage yards...wherever the leather leads us, and sometimes it finds its way to us.

Platinum Dirt strives to turn this refuse into useful, fashionable products by refashioning the leather to make our line of products- VIN Jacket™, Shark Bags™, Visor and Sport clutches, Pocket Cuffs, and wallets, with more to come. Platinum Dirt provides an opportunity for retailers and consumers to support the upcycle and slow fashion movements while adorning themselves with conscious fashion.

Hand made in Oakland CA, USA.

CLEAN WATER CHANGES LIVES

Local Aveda school team undertakes fundraising for clean water

in support of global $5 million goal

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 15, 2013) – April is Earth Month at Aveda.  In 2013 the botanical beauty brand is committed to raising $5 million for clean water and San Francisco’s very own Cinta Aveda Institute is stepping up to support the effort alongside thousands of other Aveda locations around the world.

Cinta Aveda Institute has set a fundraising goal of $10,000 and will donate 100% of proceeds to charity for select add-on services throughout March and April.  Most notably, Cinta Aveda Institute will participate in a global 24-hour cut-a-thon on Earth Day, April 22.  Aveda stylists in salons worldwide – from Tokyo, to Sydney, Moscow, London, New York and Minneapolis – will volunteer their time to offer haircuts in return for a donation to Earth Month, a simple and beautiful way for their guests to actively care for the environment.

In addition to raising money for clean water, Aveda salons will jointly attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period.

Aveda professionals in more than 30 countries have collectively raised more than $26 million for in support of Earth Month since the campaign’s inception in 1999.  Beginning in 2007, Aveda has donated Earth Month proceeds to organizations working to combat the clean water crisis – to date more than $20 million have been directed to support hundreds of clean water projects on six continents.  Funds raised by Cinta Aveda Institute will benefit Clean Water Fund – a local charity that aims to develop strong grassroots environmental leadership and to bring together diverse constituencies to work cooperatively for changes that improve their lives, focused on health, consumer, environmental and community problems.

“We believe that good business is responsible business,” says Cinta Gibbons, owner of Cinta Salon and Cinta Aveda Institute.  “It is so gratifying to participate in a program like Aveda Earth Month that allows us to participate in a global initiative that directly benefits the community where we live and work.”

“Social responsibility has been a pillar of the Aveda ethos since the brand’s founding in 1978,” says Emma Hughes, AVEDA Northern California Regional Manager.  “Aveda professionals are living proof that beauty and environment are inextricably connected – their Earth Month achievements are truly remarkable.”

ECO-FASHION GREEN CHIC 2012

WEARABLE ART SHOWCASE & FASHION SHOW

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:  EARTH DAY SAN FRANCISCO

SAN FRANCISCO.  One of the highlights of Earth Day San Francisco 2012, will be the debut of its Eco-Fashion Green Chic Showcase and Fashion Show (12:30 to 1:30 pm on the Green Stage near Polk Street across from the City Hall).  At Earth Day San Francisco, our Bay Area Eco-Fashion Green Chic Fashion Industry Leaders will be featuring works of a number of local Earth-Friendly Designers displaying a verdant spread of looks, assisted by like minded Artists, Models, and Stylists along with many local supporters from our fashion community.  Our EDSF Board of Directors Fashion Chair, Ludmila Kisseleva-Eggleton, and Fashion Segment Director Shae Lynn, Founder of VIP Socialite, along with supporting Committee Monique Zhang, Charleston Pierce, Jacqueline Tang, and Sharina Bianka, proudly present this year’s featured designers including Tuan Tran, Irina Holmes, Elizabeth Brunner, Daniel Chimowitz, DeeFind Shoes, Jenny Cho, Larisa Lavaldi, Mariya Milovidova, Victor Tung, Dustin Page, Suzette Kitselman and more.

Attendees of the Premier, which starts at 2:30 at main stage, will view a stunning display that exemplifies the connection between humanity and all of Earth's creatures. Eco-Haute Couture crafted from sustainable raw and organic materials will be beautifully displayed by local models, and the spectacular display will culminate in a release of butterflies from a recycled wirewear gown created by Fashion Artist Tuan Tran (this Vietnam-Born Artist has wowed crowds with couture fashion designs made from telephone wire "WireWear" and  re-purposed material "OriWear").  A concurrent performance by Joshua Bernstein on the Native American flute, and the free spirit dancing of Katherine Idrogo are also planned.

This year’s show will focus on three key concepts that illustrate the hottest trends in Eco-Fashion, and their relationship to the creative forces of nature. The first demonstrates the synergy between wearable art and Earth energy through music, paintings, movement, yoga and dance.  The second highlights the transformative nature of fashion, with trans-functional, multi-functional and unisex designs, and the androgyny of male-to-female and female-to-male fashion.  This year's third concept demonstrates 'scrap glamour': how unwanted, discarded and repurposed/recycled garments and/or industrial and commercial materials can be transformed into chic ultra-fashionable outfits. These designs will change the public's perception of up-cycled fashion, and have a positive impact on consumption and recycling.

It's certain, that the Eco-Consciousness of our Community, and our “Fashion-Forward” San Franciscans, will be raised, and that everyone who attends will gain a greater appreciation for wearable Eco-Fashion, and how to incorporate it into their own personal Eco-Chic Style.  The EDSF Fashion Committee is inviting one and all to bring their enthusiasm and their unique self-styled individuality, to Earth Day San Francisco, in support of Green Chic, the entire local fashion community, the integrity of our Earth, and a brighter future for all of us. At the heart of the event is the desire to inspire the Bay Area Community, to share positive energy and concern, and, to promote Eco-Conscious choices in every aspect of our daily lives, including fashion.

Earth Day San Francisco is an Event of Green Zone Productions.  Earth Day San Francisco is a San Francisco Parks Alliance Partner.  For more information about San Francisco Parks Alliance, please visit www.sfparksalliance.org .
